Designing a Hotel Website
A well thought out website design for a hotel will not only increase the number of visitors they have, but it will also help people decide faster on whether they want to book with the company or not. This is where a reputable Web designing company should come in handy. However, the goal should not only be focused in the look and feel of the site, but also on the site’s effectiveness in marketing itself on the Web. In other words, a hotel business needs a website that is aesthetically appealing and search engine-friendly. The website’s layout is very important. The website designer should align the core elements of the site both vertically and horizontally by using the grid for space allocation. Most often than not, one third of the layout is navigation and two-thirds should be body or text, vertically. While horizontally, half of the screen should be displayed in a way that visitors will see a headline including the keywords they were searching for.
Another important aspect of the website is its navigation. People do not want to spend time learning to navigate through a site. They use the Internet for quick and easy research of various things so it is just imperative to give them what they want. Otherwise, they will just leave and move on to the next hotel website. Generally, a vertical navigation bar is what most people are used to. Call to action buttons or graphics that prompt Web users to act such as making a reservation or online enquiry or checking availability. Buttons should stand out, but not overpower the entire page. In order to bring in more traffic into the site, it should have articles or stories of people’s experiences in order to develop a personal connection with potential customers. The website should have articles that will tap into people’s emotions that will make the hotel stand out from crowd. However, since visitors do not read everything, use headlines that are catchy and the right amount of articles to keep visitors interested.
